A Lot More Free - Max McNown

Max McNown has quickly become one of my favorite discoveries of the year, and his song "A Lot More Free" is a perfect example of why. Originally released in August 2023 as part of an EP and later featured on his debut album Wandering, the track captures a reflective, autumnal vibe that feels just right for this time of year.

From the gentle strum of the acoustic guitar to the warm, wistful touch of the harmonica and McNown's soft whistling, the song creates a soothing yet poignant atmosphere. It’s the kind of sound that wraps around you like a cozy blanket, with just enough space for melancholy to peek through.

Lyrically, "A Lot More Free" resonates with the change of the season, as falling leaves mirror McNown's own journey through loss and letting go. Though the pain of the past lingers, he finds a new sense of freedom and appreciation for life, seeing beauty even in the scars left behind.
