Best Ukulele Songs

With almost 8.000 followers, Best Ukulele Songs is one of the most followed ukulele playlists on Spotify. Just like BAGS, this playlist was born out of frustration. In fact, ukulele lists are either purely instrumental or include songs that don’t feature this instrument. Classic examples are ‘The Lazy Song’ and ‘I’m Yours’. They both sound great if played with the ukulele, that’s true, but none of them features the uke!

So I made a collection of 100 ukulele original songs. As a ukulele player myself, I felt the need to create it. 

To give an overview of its content, you’ll find:

• Songs by artists who, in my opinion, have contributed to making this instrument famous (e.g., Israel Kamakawiwo’ole, Eddie Vedder, Vance Joy, Ingrid Michaelson, Twenty One Pilots, Billie Eilish, Zee Avi, Beirut)

• Songs in which the uke is combined with some acoustic or electric guitars (e.g., ‘Rhythm of Love’, ‘Breakdown’, ‘Work It Out’, ‘Beautiful Too’, ‘Being Me’)

• Ukulele songs from other famous artists such as Train, James Blunt, and Jack Johnson

• Songs by independent artists (Mimi Mitina, Serepocaiontas, EmJay Hink, Kat Savvas)

• Some songs from films and TV shows that I hope everybody knows (La Vie En Rose, The Moon Song)

• Lastly, there’s also a song in which I play! It is called ‘All My Loving’ and it’s a song by the Beatles I rearranged as I always thought that it would have been perfect for this instrument

It goes without saying that it’s perfect for summer or when you need some music to cheer you up on dark winter days. Hope you enjoy it :)
