Where’s My Love - Acoustic - SYML

Hi everyone, and welcome to the third tutorial on a SYML song! For this tutorial, I’ve chosen the acoustic version of what is arguably his most famous track: Where’s My Love.

I went with the acoustic version because there are already plenty of tutorials for the original, and, contrary to what you might think, the two versions actually differ in tempo in some bars.

In the video tutorial, I’ve skipped two sections —the third verse and the third pre-chorus —since they’re identical to the second verse and second pre-chorus, respectively.

Now, let’s get into the details! Starting with the right hand, it follows a consistent picking pattern throughout the song. Pay close attention to the ghost notes (marked in parentheses) and the occasional hammer-ons. The left hand shouldn’t pose too much of a challenge, as it uses the same familiar chord shapes we’ve covered in previous tutorials.

Unfortunately, I realized after recording that there’s a small mistake in measure 59. The notes are written correctly, but I accidentally played two fewer notes than I should have. You’ll notice this because I play the low note four times instead of five, as it’s written in measure 55.

That said, have fun learning, and enjoy the song!
