Let’s kick off 2025 with a bang by diving into this tutorial for The Woods - Acoustic by Hollow Coves. Right off the bat, I’ll warn you: playing the entire song will put your right hand to the test, so be ready for a bit of a challenge!

We’ll start with some guidance for the right hand. The key here is to master two distinct picking patterns: one for the verses (and the bridge) and another for the chorus. You’ll mainly use your thumb, index, and middle fingers for the fingerpicking, so there’s no need to involve your ring finger unless you want to add some flair to the high notes on the first string.

Fortunately, the left hand is a bit easier since it only handles basic chords. The trickiest part, in my opinion, comes during the variation in the final chorus, where you’ll need to use a partial barre for the F major chord.
