Strawberry Wine - Noah Kahan
Hi everyone, and welcome to this first tutorial featuring a song by Noah Kahan: Strawberry Wine!
For the first time on this channel, I’m presenting a song that's divided into two parts with two different tempos. The first part includes the intro and verses, played at 125 bpm, while the second part — covering the chorus, interlude, bridge, and fade-out outro — slows down to 104 bpm.
Let’s start with the first part. I really enjoy this section because it's a great warm-up exercise for the right hand, and it also helps you work on hammer-ons, pull-offs, and left-hand stretching. It's a technically well-rounded piece. Here, I recommend using your index finger on the first fret of the second string as a pivot point when shifting between chords. For the right hand, I suggest using the thumb for the bottom three strings, the index finger for the second string, and either the middle or ring finger for the first string — depending on which one you'd like to warm up or train.
In the second part of the song, you can continue using the index finger on the first fret of the second string as a pivot. I won’t go into too much detail here, since it uses the same fingerpicking pattern you've seen in many of my other tutorials.
As always, you can find the tabs on my Patreon page. Have fun learning!
