Pictures - Benjamin Francis Leftwich
Hello everyone, and welcome to this new tutorial! Today, I’m bringing you another song by Benjamin Francis Leftwich: Pictures. And yes, once again, it’s a song that requires a capo on the sixth fret!
In terms of structure, this is a very simple piece. Three of its four sections—intro, verses, and outro—are identical, which is why the video is so short. The only variation comes in the chorus, but even that doesn’t differ too much from the rest.
Moving on to technique, let’s start with the right hand. The thumb is used exclusively for the three lowest strings, while the index finger plays the third string and the middle finger handles the second. As for the left hand, my main advice is to always keep your ring finger pressed on the third fret of the second string. This small detail will provide the stability you need when transitioning between chords.
