Helplessly Lost - Passenger
Welcome to our third tutorial featuring a song by Passenger. This time, I’ve chosen another track from the album "Sometimes It’s Something, Sometimes It’s Nothing at All," the same album that features the song "Rosie." If you enjoy hammer-ons, this is the perfect song for you. It’s hard to keep count of how many there are, but they all sound beautiful.
Regarding the song's structure, it consists of an intro, two verses, a bridge, and an outro. The tutorial only misses the second verse, but the notes are practically the same as the first! Every note you see in the tabs comes from careful listening, except for measures 25 and 38, where I had to improvise because I couldn’t quite grasp the fingerpicking pattern.
As with all Passenger songs, I recommend focusing primarily on the bass notes (which must be played with the thumb) as they form the backbone of the piece.
Have fun!
