Hey Jude - Alex Vargas

I first discovered Danish singer-songwriter Alex Vargas two years ago at the se7venlayers festival. His vocal performance left a lasting impression — so much so that I’m convinced the windows at the Paradiso in Amsterdam are still trembling! Captivated by his talent, I dove into his discography and stumbled upon a stunning version of Hey Jude that completely won me over.

Later, I found out that Alex made a cameo appearance in episode 8 of Ted Lasso’s third season. In the scene (link below), he’s busking and performing Hey Jude while Coach Beard explains the song’s deeper meaning to Ted’s son, Henry. The choice of the song is far from random. Paul McCartney originally wrote Hey Jude to comfort John Lennon’s son, Julian, during his parents’ divorce. Through Beard’s explanation, Henry realizes the song holds a similar message of solace for him, creating a poignant moment that ties beautifully into the narrative.

You can find the links to the song and the scene below — don’t miss out!
