Elastic Heart - Vance Joy

Back in April of this year, Vance Joy released an EP on Spotify featuring three stripped-back covers that, in my opinion, have been largely underrated: Don’t Change, Elastic Heart, and Fake Plastic Trees. Each track showcases his unique ability to breathe new life into well-known songs, but one cover, in particular, stands out to me.

My personal favorite is his rendition of Elastic Heart by Sia. It’s a track that only Vance Joy could have transformed into an acoustic masterpiece. His vocal range is simply extraordinary.

In case you’re wondering, Like A Version is a segment on the Australian radio station Triple J, where, each week, a musician or band comes into the studio to perform one of their own songs as well as a cover of a song they love. Vance Joy’s contributions to this format have been nothing short of stunning.
