I Will Follow You Into The Dark - Death Cab for Cutie

As someone who isn’t a fan of Scrubs (please don’t hate me), I discovered this song through Ricky Gervais's TV series "Afterlife" on Netflix and instantly fell in love with it. It's no surprise that I've placed it second in my "Best Acoustic Guitar Songs" playlist. To me, it’s the perfect ballad, relying solely on a guitar and a voice.

It's incredible to think that, as admitted by Ben Gibbard, the band’s frontman, this song was written in just 15 minutes and recorded on the same day. Despite its simplicity, it has become their most listened-to track ever.

Regarding the lyrics, as can easily be inferred from the title, the song addresses themes that inevitably touch all of us, such as love, death, and the fear of the unknown.
