Best Acoustic Covers - October 2025

October brought us back to normal with 4 acoustic covers that I’m glad to present you!

Clay Pigeons - Muireann Bradley

First up is Clay Pigeons by Blaze Foley, reimagined by Muireann Bradley. What stands out here is the fuller production, something new for Muireann, who usually keeps things simple with just voice and guitar. This time she added strings, backing vocals, bass, and even a touch of piano, giving the song a warmer, more rounded sound without losing its intimacy.

Master & A Hound - Chapter II

Then we have Master & A Hound by Gregory Alan Isakov, performed by Chapter II, a new indie-folk band from Nottingham. Their version shines thanks to a beautiful vocal performance and a light echo that preserves the song’s ethereal vibe. The guitar arpeggio paired with piano keeps the same fragile balance that makes the original so special.

Ocean Ave - Tommy Marra, Joe Uzzo

Then we have Ocean Ave by Tommy Marra and Joe Uzzo. Forget the driving electric guitars and power chords of Yellowcard’s pop-punk anthem and let yourself drift with the interwoven acoustic arpeggios instead. Turning an emo classic into a gentle indie-folk ballad is no easy task, but Tommy and Joe nailed it, paying tribute to a song that shaped their teenage years while making it fit seamlessly into their own sound.

Tomorrow Never Knows - Taylor Rae

Finally, a real gem: Tomorrow Never Knows by The Beatles, covered by Taylor Rae, who, once again, proves she never misses any acoustic rendition. She shared that the idea came while listening to Junior Parker’s soulful take on the song, which inspired her to try her own version. Using open C tuning on her twelve-string and recording it live with analog gear, she created something both haunting and deeply personal.

And that’s my October selection: four covers, each with its own charm. Which one’s your favorite?
