Best Acoustic Covers - March 2026
March was another incredible month for acoustic covers. I ended up selecting eight tracks this time; two of them, just like in February, are different versions of the same song!
My Girl - Garrett Kato
I’ll start with My Girl by The Temptations, reimagined by Garrett Kato. This cover comes with a great story that Garrett shared on Instagram: he originally recorded it about ten years ago, and it was later requested by a friend for a Netflix series. If you’re curious, I did the digging for you: you can hear it in episode 2 of season 7 of Virgin River. What really stands out here is how much he transforms the song. Moving from that classic 1960s Motown sound to a soft indie folk arrangement is no small task, and the result is easily one of my favorite covers of the year so far.
The Book of Love - Olivia Rodrigo
Next is The Book of Love by The Magnetic Fields, performed by Olivia Rodrigo as part of War Child Records’s project Help(2), which aims to raise funds for children affected by war. The song has already seen a famous reinterpretation by Peter Gabriel back in 2004, giving it a cinematic feel, and I get a similar vibe in Olivia’s delicate version, especially when the strings come in. If I’m not mistaken, this might also be her first acoustic cover released on Spotify.
There Is No Arizona - Chandler Marie
Then we have There Is No Arizona by Jamie O’Neal, covered by Chandler Marie. After My Give A Damn’s Busted, Chandler delivers another country gem. The more stripped-back arrangement really highlights the beauty of the chorus, carried by a gentle guitar arpeggio that lets the melody shine.
Apologize - Acoustic - trolly
trolly is back as well, this time with Apologize by OneRepublic. At this point, I don’t even need to say much, you already know what to expect, and chances are you’re going to like it.
Dogwood Blossom - Lydia Luce, Andrea von Kampen
A slightly unexpected one comes next: Lydia Luce and Andrea von Kampen are back with Dogwood Blossom, one of the most beautiful (and, in my opinion, underrated) songs by Fionn Regan. Their vocal harmonies bring a fresh and very pleasing perspective to the track.
If It Makes You Happy - The Fairweather
The sixth cover is If It Makes You Happy by Sheryl Crow, performed by The Fairweather. By now, you know the recipe: acoustic guitar and harmonies, delivered in a slightly leaner, more intimate version that works really well.
Man I Need - Jonah Baker / Daudia
Then we get to Man I Need by Olivia Dean, which was covered this month by both Jonah Baker and Daudia. If you’ve read other posts on my blog, you probably already know Jonah Baker, so let me introduce you to Daudia, an Italian duo made up of Davide and Claudia. It’s not something you see every day, two different artists releasing an acoustic cover of the same song in the same month. But I like to look at it as two different perspectives on the same track, and both versions are absolutely worth your time.
That’s it for this month: eight covers, lots of variety, and plenty of great music to discover! You can find them all spread across my Fresh Acoustic Covers playlist!
