Best Acoustic Covers - March

March turned out to be a surprisingly prolific month for acoustic covers. I usually struggle to pick three or four songs that really stand out, but this time around I ended up with six tracks that I just couldn’t leave out.

birds of a feather - acoustic - The Macarons Projects

Going in chronological order, the first cover that landed on my radar this month was Birds of a Feather by The Macarons Project. If you’re into mellow acoustic vibes, this Canadian-based Indonesian duo is definitely worth checking out. Their take on this song is stripped-down to the core—just a voice and a delicate guitar arpeggio. Simple, intimate, and quietly powerful.

yesterday - reframe

Next up is Yesterday by Sam Heilig. This is the second home-recorded release from his covers project, reframe. When I spoke to him, he told me he first heard Yesterday as a kid and was immediately hooked. It’s one of his earliest memories of falling in love with music, so it just felt right for him to give it his own spin. And I have to say, he definitely did it justice — there’s a tenderness in his guitar arpeggio and voice that really brings the song back to its emotional roots.

Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright - Muireann Bradley

Keeping the Bob Dylan wave rolling, we’ve got Don’t Think Twice, It’s Alright by Muireann Bradley, a super talented 18-year-old country blues guitarist. While her version stays fairly close to the original in terms of structure, it’s her fingerpicking that really stands out — seriously impressive stuff that gives the song a fresh sense of life while still honoring Dylan’s classic style.

Redemption Song - Vintz Desert

The fourth track is Redemption Song by Vintz Desert, a Maryland-based singer-songwriter and fellow playlist curator. He told me that this is a song he often finds himself playing at live shows — one of those tracks that just resonates on a deeper level, especially during tough times. When recording it, he wanted to capture the raw, honest energy that he feels when performing it live, and you can totally feel that in the final version. It’s stripped back, emotional, and full of soul.

willow - Jessiah

Then there’s willow by Jessiah, an artist I not only know personally but also had the pleasure of releasing a ukulele cover of All My Loving with. Just a couple of weeks ago, Jessiah dropped an EP of Taylor Swift covers, and I was instantly drawn to her acoustic rendition of willow.

Talking about the track, she shared: “evermore has got to be one of my favourite albums out there, so upon hearing the witchy cabin-in-the-woods resembling willow I knew I wanted to make my own rendition of it. It has existed on my YouTube channel for a couple of years, and now also on streaming services. Although I don’t consider myself a professional guitar player, I tried my best to do justice to the beautiful part this instrument plays in the song. And as for the piano, where I’m much more confident I allowed myself some more freedom to improvise. In order to make it fit within the acoustic version, I made it sound as if from a different dimension. And last, but certainly not least - my favourite part of the creative process - vocals!!! I really had to give myself timeout by the end of the recording session, before making a complete cacophony of the final chorus. Luckily, the final result is exactly the witches coven, putting a love spell on you, that I was looking for.”
And honestly, she nailed it.

Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now - Acoustic - Callum J Wright

Last but definitely not least: Nothing’s Gonna Stop Us Now by Callum J Wright. If you’re a fan of my Best Acoustic Covers playlist, then you probably already know this name well. It’s not easy turning an 80s rock anthem into a mellow acoustic tune, but for Callum, that kind of transformation is second nature. He takes the big, bold energy of the original and reshapes it into something soft, emotional, and cozy — like a warm blanket version of the song. Perfect for slow mornings or winding down at night.

So there you have it — six incredible acoustic covers that made March one of the richest months in recent memory. I’d love to know which one struck a chord with you. Got a favorite already? And of course, you can find all of them in my All of Acoustic 2025 playlist, where I gather the best and latest acoustic releases of the year. Happy listening!
