Best Acoustic Covers - July 2026

July wasn't as generous as the previous months, giving us only three acoustic covers. Still, we welcomed two new names… or rather five, as you'll soon find out!

Wherever You Will Go - trolly

Let's start with the usual suspect: trolly and his new acoustic version of Wherever You Will Go. Instead of comparing it to the original, it's more interesting to compare it to the band's own acoustic version, which still features guitar, bass, and drums. As always, trolly keeps things even simpler with just two acoustic guitars and vocals, and by now you already know the result.

The Kid - The Lumineers

Next come the first new faces: The Lumineers with their cover of The Kid by The Felice Brothers. The song was released as part of Felice County Fair, a tribute album celebrating The Felice Brothers, a band that played a special role in Wesley Schultz's life and relationship with his wife Brandy, who actually came up with the idea for the project. Just like the original, The Lumineers keep the focus on the vocals, but they strip the arrangement back to just guitar and voice, replacing the original's guitar, piano, and pedal steel with something much more intimate.

Simply The Best - Jeremy Loops, Salt Tree

The final cover is Simply The Best by Salt Tree and Jeremy Loops. Salt Tree are no strangers to acoustic covers, with I'm On Fire being a long-time favorite in my Best Acoustic Covers playlist. This is one of those examples I often talk about, where a classic is completely reimagined in a new style, this time with Salt Tree's signature surf-inspired acoustic sound, featuring guitars, banjo, and percussion. A really fresh take on a timeless hit.
