Best Acoustic Covers - December 2025

This month brought one more acoustic cover compared to last time, for a total of three really nice releases that deserve a mention.

Bad Guy (Acoustic) - trolly

The first cover is Bad Guy by our beloved “trolly.” By now, you’re probably familiar with his style and already know what to expect: mellow vibes, careful arrangements, and a very personal touch. This time, though, there’s something new in the mix: a charango playing the high notes, which adds a bright, delicate color to the song. Small spoiler: the charango will also be the main character in his next cover, so keep an eye on that.

Bitter Sweet Symphony - Tommy Marra, Joe Uzzo

The second cover is Bitter Sweet Symphony by Joe Uzzo and Tommy Marra. The vibe here instantly reminded me of something like Ocean Avenue: an acoustic guitar playing arpeggios, piano taking care of the iconic string riff from the original, a few subtle synths, and the two voices blending in soft harmonies. A simple but very effective combination, if you ask me.

Complicated - Gareth

Last but not least, we’ve got Complicated by Gareth, who every now and then treats us to a new cover. This one has a slightly richer production, with drums, piano, soft electric guitar, female backing vocals, and of course acoustic guitar still at the center. Gareth’s voice gives the song a nice little country twist, which works surprisingly well and gives new life to such a well-known track.

As always, let me know which one was your favorite!
