Best Acoustic Guitar Songs: the Content

As I already wrote in my 10.000 followers’ celebration Instagram post, the idea behind BAGS is to not focus on a specific genre but rather to showcase the versatility of the acoustic guitar.

More in specific, despite the list is going towards an indie/folk direction, you’ll be able to find:

• songs from bands that made the history of music (e.g., The Beatles and The Rolling Stones) 

• acoustic songs from popular rock bands (e.g., Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Oasis, Green Day, 3 Doors Down, Nirvana) 

• songs from bands/artists I’d call ‘vintage’ (e.g., Bob Dylan, Dolly Parton, Simon & Garfunkel, Cat Stevens, Lou Reed, Tracy Chapman, Eric Clapton)

• songs from my favourite folk artists (e.g., Passenger, Noah Kahan, Gregory Alan Isakov, SYML, Seafret, Iron & Wine)

• acoustic songs from more ‘commercial’ artists (e.g., Dua Lipa, Harry Styles, Shawn Mendes, Charlie Puth) 

• songs from films/TV show I felt the need to Shazam (no spoilers, it’s up to you to guess which ones)

• songs I discovered because of friends’ recommendation (it makes my day when someone writes me ‘hey Ale, I listened to this song and I think it would perfectly fit your playlist!’) 

Songs from artists I had the good fortune to discover thanks to PlaylistPush (the music platform I’m currently ‘working’ for) deserve a separate mention. You have no idea how many good emerging artists exist. Helping them grow gives me a lot of satisfaction.
